Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Quantum Edge AI ("we," "us," "the platform") collects when you use quantumedgeai.net, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It's written to reflect what this app actually does, not generic boilerplate — if something here seems out of date with the product, let us know.

1. Information you give us directly

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you provide one), and a password (stored as a salted hash — we never see or store your plaintext password). If you add real or watch-only positions, watchlists, or paper-trading orders, that data is stored against your account. If you contact support, we keep the message and your reply email.

2. Information from connected services

• Google Sign-In — if you use "Sign in with Google," we receive your name, email, and Google account ID from Google; we never see your Google password.
• Q Suite social accounts — if you connect X, Reddit, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or Threads to schedule posts or read your inbox/listening feeds, we store an encrypted OAuth access token (and refresh token, where the platform provides one) scoped only to what you authorized. These tokens are encrypted at rest using a key derived from our application secret and are never exposed in plaintext, including to our own staff. Disconnecting an account in Q Suite revokes and deletes the stored token.
• Payment processors — subscription billing runs through Stripe and/or PayPal. We never receive or store your full card number; we receive a customer/subscription ID and billing status from whichever processor you choose.

3. Information collected automatically

Standard web request data (IP address, user agent, timestamps) is logged for security purposes — rate limiting, fraud/brute-force protection, and debugging. We use session cookies to keep you signed in, an optional "remember me" cookie, and an optional "trust this device" cookie that can skip a second authentication factor for 30 days if you've enabled two-factor authentication. None of these are third-party ad-tracking cookies, and we don't run ad trackers or sell data to data brokers.

4. How your data is used

• To operate your account, dashboard, portfolio tracking, and paper trading (all paper-trading activity is simulated — no real orders are ever placed with a broker).
• To send the alerts you opt into — SEC filing alerts, prediction-call alerts, and account notifications, by email and/or SMS (SMS requires a phone number and is sent via Twilio).
• To power the AI assistant: messages you send it, along with relevant context about your own portfolio, are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. Conversation history is stored so you can resume it later.
• To publish posts, read analytics, and manage inbox messages on your behalf for any social account you explicitly connect through Q Suite — we only ever act within the permissions you granted during that platform's OAuth consent screen.
• To process payments and manage your subscription, via Stripe and/or PayPal.
• To secure your account — password hashing, optional two-factor authentication (email code, authenticator app, or a hardware/biometric passkey), and brute-force lockout protection.

5. Market, news, and third-party data

Prices, charts, signals, news, and other market data shown on the platform come from third-party providers (including Finnhub, Twelve Data, FRED, CoinGecko, DefiLlama, API Ninjas, and SEC EDGAR's public filing database). Fetching that data does not involve sending your personal information to those providers — it's one-way, publicly available financial data flowing into the app.

6. Who we share data with

We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers necessary to run the platform, each acting under their own privacy commitments: Stripe and/or PayPal (billing), Twilio (SMS delivery), Google (OAuth sign-in), Anthropic (AI assistant), Google reCAPTCHA (spam filtering on the contact form), and whichever social platforms you personally connect through Q Suite (X, Reddit, LinkedIn, Meta/Facebook/Instagram, Threads) — and only for the actions you authorize on each. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the security of the platform and its users.

7. Your choices and rights

• You can update your profile information and alert preferences at any time from Settings.
• You can disconnect any Q Suite social account at any time, which deletes its stored token immediately.
• You can opt out of email or SMS alerts individually from your alert preferences.
• You can request a copy of your data or request account deletion by contacting us. We'll verify your identity before acting on the request.

8. Data retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain records (e.g., billing records for tax/accounting purposes).

9. Children's privacy

Quantum Edge AI is a financial-tracking and social-media-management platform intended for adults. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect data from, anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email.
